I ask questions about the relationship between dominant ways of thinking within and cultural narratives about engineering practice in the U.S. I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Science, Technology, &amp; Society and a participant in the Women&#8217;s, Gender, &amp; Sexuality Studies certificate program at Virginia Tech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Currently I am writing my dissertation which focuses on the ethics of engineering knowledge production. It is a critical review of various approaches to social change in engineering in the U.S. undertaken throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries. In my conclusion I argue for a theoretical reorientation of our approaches to social change that reincorporates philosophical inquiry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">I received my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Science &amp; Technology Studies from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and my M.S. in Science &amp; Technology Studies from Virginia Tech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am a philosopher of engineering and technology based in the United States.
